How to use Grocery Checklist
Add an item and an optional quantity, then check it off as you shop. Select Edit to change either field, or × to remove one item. Clear list asks before removing everything, including hidden items.
Find, copy and paste
Search checks item names and quantities. Show switches between all, still needed and checked-off items. Copy full list always includes every item, even if your current view is filtered. If copying is blocked, a selectable text box appears.
Paste one item per line. For a quantity, use a tab between the name and quantity. A leading bullet, [ ] or [x] is understood. Copying and pasting a full list keeps its quantities and checkmarks.
Matching item names and quantities ignore letter case, extra spaces and equivalent Unicode accents. Duplicates are skipped during import, with the first existing checkmark kept. A repeated item with a different quantity stays separate. Quantities are plain text and are never added together.
Limits
A list holds up to 200 items. Names allow 120 Unicode characters and quantities allow 40. Paste accepts up to 70,000 characters and 1,000 lines. A malformed or over-capacity import adds nothing. HTML is shown as text.
Saving and recovery
The list is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Reloading restores it. Saving can fail in private browsing, when storage is full or when your browser blocks it. Read the message beneath the list and use Copy full list as a backup.
Reset saved data asks before deleting only this site’s saved list and the current list. If saved data is damaged or from an unsupported version, it is left untouched until you explicitly reset it. Changes can still be made in the current tab.
Other tabs on this same site normally receive saved updates. If there are unsaved changes here, this tab keeps them and asks you to copy them before loading the saved list. Use one tab at a time for the safest editing: simultaneous edits in separate tabs are not a shared-list service.
There is no account, device sync or recovery service. Clearing browser/site data removes the list. The site must already be loaded to keep working without a connection; offline reopening is not guaranteed.
